Dawww - fanx.. After getting those two films Officially Selected for Cardiff Mini Film Festival @cardiffminifilm https://www.facebook.com/cardiffminifilm/ - had a couple of unconnected pat-on-the-back moments.
Angie Hurdman, the Adjudicator (Somerset Fellowship of Drama and the Cinderella Awards) for "Hansel and Gretel" at Merlin Theatre (December 2017) - a wonderful ORIGINAL production (script/music/direction Claudia Pepler and Allison Herbert) - had nice things to say about the multimedia I created for the production:
"The show was hugely enhanced by some clever technical wizardry: projected, animated media, care of Howard Vause setting the backdrop for the scary forest, which grew scarier as the night progressed or setting a warm and attractive scene showing trees dropping sweets and back-lighting throwing shadow-play onto a gauze as the Old Woman told her story all worked very well indeed. This was a show full of interest, variety, colour and attention to detail : excellent."
Must upload some of the spooky forest. And the sweeties.
Then, in a kind of less formal happening, the mother of one of the students I used to teach at Frome Media Arts Community College thanked me for the inspiration, encouragement and time I'd given her son who has since grown a beard and a career in creative media technology. That felt very nice.
Meanwhile, earning a living as a commissioned filmmaker - need to allocate some time each week to develop my scripts. Meeting some interesting people lately....
